# Phone calls and voice agents from Claude

Add Speko from Claude's connector directory and place AI phone calls, read call transcripts and check your voice agents from a Claude chat.

[Get started free](https://platform.speko.ai/sign-in) [Open in Claude ↗](https://claude.ai/directory/speko) $10 in credit on signup

## What you can ask Claude

- Call the restaurant at +1 415 555 0134 with my booking agent and reserve a table for four at 8.
- Read the transcript of my last call and summarise what the customer asked for.
- Which of my agents had the most failed calls this week?
- Transcribe this voicemail.

## Set it up

1. ### 1Connect Speko from the directory

Speko is listed in Claude's connector directory. Open it and press Connect.

2. ### 2Sign in

Claude opens Speko's sign-in. Approve access to your workspace.
3. ### 3File the calling declaration once

Before the first outbound call, the workspace files a two-field business declaration: the business name and what calling is for. Ask Claude to do it; it takes effect immediately.
4. ### 4Ask for a call

Name the agent and the number. Every call opens by saying the caller is an AI, and no prompt can turn that off.

## What Claude can do

- Place one outbound call per request, using an agent you deployed
- Read agents, sessions, calls, transcripts and recordings
- Read phone numbers, knowledge bases, credits, usage and SMS threads
- Transcribe audio
- Search the Speko docs and run the migration helpers

## Not from Claude

- Create, edit or deploy agents
- Generate speech
- Buy phone numbers or write to knowledge bases
- Send texts or run bulk evals

Configuring an agent arms it to speak on inbound traffic, so the Claude directory host keeps agent setup out. Build and deploy agents in Claude Code, the console or the API, then call with them from Claude.

## Questions

**Can Claude make phone calls?**

Yes, through Speko. With the Speko connector added, Claude can place an outbound call to one number per request, using a voice agent you have already deployed on Speko.

**Why can't Claude create the agent too?**

A configured agent answers inbound calls with no further action, so the Claude directory host withholds agent setup. Use Claude Code or the Speko console for that part, then call from Claude.

**Does the other person know it's an AI?**

Yes. Every call placed from a directory host starts with the AI disclosure, injected on the server, and the agent cannot be prompted out of it.

**How does it sign in?**

OAuth in the browser: the client opens Speko's sign-in, you approve, and it gets a token bound to the MCP endpoint. For automation, send a Speko API key as a Bearer token instead.

**What does it cost?**

The MCP server is free to connect. Calls and agent minutes bill at the published rates on the pricing page, and every account starts with $10 in credit.
